A Disciple's Promise

"No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~ Romans 8:39 NLT

Lord, I call Your name in the hope of Your attention to my heart’s promise.

Lord, I call Your name in alignment with the calling You’ve placed on my heart, that it burns with a similar passion that You had on the cross.

Lord, I call Your name in hunger for Your Spirit to dwell in my heart so that Your presence is forever known to me.

The promises You hold stand strong and true! In my discipline for Your Word, I can only hope that my promise of being Your disciple is as strong and true. I believe it in my heart’s desire, but You know more than I, this fallen world ruled by another will do everything in their power to break my promise.

Lord, You watch me stumble and fall, but lift me with Your Spirit back onto the path You’ve set for us.

Lord, You watch me distract myself in the storm over my life, but call me back to Your Word to set my mind at ease.

Lord, You watch me seek to obey You, yet, I allow my fear and sin to take hold and lose sight of You, but You forgive me in my transgressions.

The mercy and grace You show are forever marked by Your blood on that cross. In my discipline for Your Spirit, I can only hope and pray that my love amounts to the sacrifice You made. You are faithful and never waver from who You’ve shown us to be.

You are my Lord…

You are my God…

You are my Father…

I am Your servant!

I am Your creation!

I am Your child!

You are my Master, and I promise to be Your disciple!
