Calling out to You
“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” ~ Psalm 62:5 ESV
Calling out to You, my soul yearns for an answer.
Nothing but silence.
Calling out to You, I pray for Your peace.
Nothing but silence.
Is it my desire that keeps You in silence?
Are my prayers lost on their way to Your throne?
Lord, when asking You for the path to be cleared,
my patience wears thin.
Where are You when Your child is lost?
Why is it nothing but silence?
Is this what Jacob experienced when wrestling with You?
No, You were present with him!
Is this what Shadrak, Meeshak, and Abendago experienced
when thrown into the fire?
No, You were present with them!
You show up for Your people, for Your children, for the faithful and righteous. But where do I stand amongst them?
Or am I cast aside?
Or is it that the silence is just a front for the fact that You are no longer watching…
If that were the case, then this world has no hope indeed.
Therefore, hear my call, O Lord!
Hear the cry of my heart, for I know that in the end You will answer!
Although I doubt now,
You’ve shown up so many times before that I should not lose faith!
The devil may toy with me, but perhaps,
You are silent so that I can choose You once again.
Perhaps, the silence is Your way of saying,
“Patience My child, for I am making something new in your life!”
Well then, my Lord, I will continue to call out to You,
and in the silence there will be nothing but faith…
