Light in Heaven
"While I am in the world, I Am the light of the world." ~ John 9:5 NIV
Light in Heaven, how can I look away?
Though sin clenches my ankle,
Your hand reaches down in the depths to pull me back.Â
Light in Heaven, how can I turn away?
The darkness covers all the world,
but You have overcome it all.Â
Light in Heaven, how can I walk away?
Anguish and despair spoil my thoughts, sinking deeper into my shame.
Yet, You say I am strong because of my weakness.Â
Light in Heaven, help me to see You.Â
When You reach down,
I yearn to grasp hold of Your glorious hand
and rise up to meet You.Â
Light in Heaven, help me to meet You.Â
As I live in this dark world, I yearn to have You by my side
so that Your light can shine before me.Â
Light in Heaven, help me to follow You.Â
In all that I am, You are the strength in my weakness.
Teach me Your ways so I may be the light of the world.Â
Light in Heaven, glorious You are,
for without You nothing would be lit.
He already answered your plea - you ARE light in the Lord, you DO shine as light in the world.
