Take my Weight
"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." ~ Matthew 11:28 NIV
The weight is great, but not greater than You.
Lord, You call me to follow, and in doing so the world will not accept me. Even so, I follow to gain my life!
You warn me of how difficult following You will be, but I will follow nonetheless, for the reward waiting for me in the Kingdom is greater than the weight.
Give me trials that will build me up in Christ. Show me the path laid out and call me to serve Your Kingdom!
Give me courage and strength to face the giants that block my path. In You, my victory is assured!
My Lord, You are place at the highest in my life and I know, Your will shall be done because of it!
So, my Lord, I lift this great weight from myself and surrender it to You. I know You will merge it with my path You've set and make me stronger because of it.
Thank You, Lord!
Religion must be carried/supported by people - it is the "works of their hands". This is a wearisome labor, that is not what God desires for us...
Isaiah 46:3, 4
[3] “Listen to me, O house of Jacob,
who have been borne by me from before your birth,
carried from the womb;
[4] even to your old age I am he,
and to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save. (ESV)
