What You Say

"My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me." ~ John 10:27 NIV

Your name is great, above all others. Your character is true, beyond all others.

Even translating from one tongue to another, Your name still holds power. 

So no matter where You dwell, Your character will still shine true. 

“Follow Me,” You say, “Come to Me,” You say, and what do I do?

Spit on Your words with the sin I return to, losing sight of the victory You’ve placed on my path. 

“Take courage,” You say, “I am with you,” You say, and what do I do?

Struggle and fight Your will for my life, breaking Your heart and the hearts of all those who have gone before me. 

Is this the storm inside of each of us? Can we weather our sins?

No! It is not by us but by You! 

You say, “I am the Way,” and I follow! 

You say, “I am the Resurrection,” and I proclaim! 

You say, “I am the Light,” and I shine bright with You! 

You say, “I am the Vine,” and I become one with You! 

You say, “I am the Door,” and I walk through Your will! 

You say, “I am the Good Shepherd,” and Lord, my tears swell up hearing Your voice bringing me back to the other ninety-nine…

Anything You say will come true, for it is in Your name and character that I know what You say is and will be done…
