Your Kingdom
"...Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." ~ Matthew 6:10 NIV
I proclaim You as Lord over my life. I proclaim Your Word as law fulfilled. Following You makes me an enemy of the world, and I still follow You.
So why does my heart hurt so much? Why do I struggle to let go of those I love while proclaiming You as Lord?
You answer me with Your own prayer and Word…
“I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world,” ~ John 17:14
My longing to bring others into a relationship with You has only shown me Your warnings are true. When I am in You, all those in this world will no longer know me because they do not know You.
My cries and pleas in my prayers are for them to know You. However, now I see that in such desires, I only act selfishly for them to be with me.
In truth, they are Yours. My selfish desire to have them must fade and it is the pursuit of You where my focus must lie. It is in You and I shall stay, and continue to hear Your Word for it prepares my way.
May they proclaim You as Lord just as I have. May they follow You, deny themselves, pick up their crosses, and see You in their mirrors.
Lord, my heart’s cry has grown for those You place upon my path, and in turn, I no longer want them for myself, but for Your glory and pleasure Lord, use me for their good.
Use me Lord in valleys, use me in green pastures, use me in wild storms, use me on towering mountains, use me in rocking ships, use me in calming gardens, use me in Your Spirit!
This world is nothing when we are in You. Your path, be it narrow, is beyond our expectations for what we view as right. Your path is right!
Lead us, Lord, into Your holy presence and share Your truth with us. For we do not want to live in this world, for it is and has been perpetually degrading by sin led by the enemy. In You, King of Kings, Leader of all, this world is upgraded to life as we discipline ourselves to Your commands!
Therefore, let this world hate me! If it means following You, I have all that I need. In turn, degraded I desire to give You new hearts that seek You over their kingdoms. Using me in all facets of my strengths and weaknesses, for Your Kingdom’s come!
