Psalms for Meditation
June: Monthly Psalms I am meditating on and letting the Holy Spirit work through in my life.
Blessings and grace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Welcome to a new section of Disciple’s Prayers; where I have decided to start posting the psalms that I am meditating on.
As of right now I might do 1 or 2 of these a month, but I’ll mostly be following the Spirit’s lead in what comes up.
It is my prayer that this helps to deepen your own walk with Christ.
To Begin… Psalm 61:1-8:
Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer;
2Â from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,
3Â for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
4Â Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings!
Selah
5Â For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6Â Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations!
7Â May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
8Â So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Ps 61:1–8.
The Spirit led me to Psalm 61 in the midst of a difficult trial I was going through. There’s so much here, but for this post, I’m not looking to teach anything. Instead, the purpose of this is to guide you in prayer and meditation. Thus, I’ll pray…
Father in Heaven,
Thank You for listening and hearing our prayers! Thank You that You are the God Who hears, Who understands us when all others cannot. Thank You for being our refuge, our shelter, our fortress where we can dwell and know that we are not only protected, but strengthened to go out again and bring the fight to the enemy! O Lord, in meditating on verse 5, it reminds me of Isaiah 11:3, that our heritage is in You, Christ Jesus, Who delights in the fear of the Lord. That You are the firstborn of all creation, therefore, You are our Older Brother, Who grants us an inheritance in Christ! O Spirit, please bless those who read this and may they receive a fresh anointing of overwhelming grace upon their lives.
In Jesus name,
Amen
Psalms from His Disciples
The following are not from the Word of God, but are some of the psalms that myself and others have written that I enjoy dwelling in with the Spirit.
